🍪 Gingerbread Man Month Newsletter – Kindergarten Class 🍪

A Sweet Start to December!

Hello, Kindergarten Families!

We’ve had an exciting start to the month as we celebrate Gingerbread Man Month! Our little chefs got hands-on experience in making a gingerbread man. With a mix of flour, sugar, and a dash of magic, each child created their own gingerbread friend. And yes, we did indulge in tasting them – they were absolutely delicious!

Celebrating Hanukkah

In honor of Hanukkah, we introduced the game of Dreidel to our class. It was wonderful to see the children enjoy this traditional game, learning about its history and significance. We’re all about embracing and celebrating diverse cultures in our classroom!

Reading & Literacy Focus

This month, our reading journey dives into the world of CVC words (Consonant-Vowel-Consonant). We’re exploring how to decode these simple words and understand their meanings. Remember, when reading with your child, encourage them to point to each word, especially if the book pattern changes. This helps in reinforcing their learning and understanding of word structures.

Word Families Workshop

Continuing with our literacy focus, we’ve been working on ‘word families’. This approach helps in enhancing phonemic awareness among our students, making it easier for them to pick up new words and improve their reading skills.

A Note on Play and Conduct

Thank you to all the parents who attended our recent conferences. Your involvement and support make a big difference in your child’s educational journey. We’d like to remind everyone to talk to their children about the importance of keeping hands to themselves. While play is an essential part of learning, play fighting is not appropriate behavior in school. It’s crucial to teach our little ones about respecting personal space and being kind to each other.

Looking Ahead

As we move through December, more exciting activities are planned- especially on MONDAY AT 2:45, when making the gingerbread houses. Stay tuned for updates on our holiday crafts. We are not having a winter party on Thursday; our party is making the Gingerbread Houses on Monday. Next week is Spirit Week; if you click the download button, you will see each day’s activity.

Parent-Teacher-Student Contract

I realized that I forgot to pass out the Parent-Teacher-Student contract during our recent conferences. This contract is an important part of fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for our students. It outlines our shared responsibilities and commitments to ensure the best possible educational experience for your child.

📝 Please find the contract in your child’s folder. We kindly request that you review, sign, and return it by the end of the next week.

Warm Regards,
