Hello Families,
-
I am send home a print copy of the newsletter this week, because there are many important events coming up. On a personal note, as some of you know, my family has a condo in downtown Charleston. Due to Hurricane Mathew, evacuation orders were issue and for the last two weeks, my family has been working on that issue. Fortunately, everyone and everything is fine. Thank you for all your support .

Last Thursday morning I read with every student to assess their reading level. The scores of these test will be reflected on your child’s December report card and I will explain it to you at Parent Teacher Conferences in November. This assessment also helps me learn more about your child academically and form small groups, so I may place your child with students who are working on similar academic goals.
-
Beginning on Tuesday families can sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences. Conferences will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 (Election Day). There is no school on Conference day. Each family must sign up for a conference time on Skyward. Each conference last about 20 minutes. Different than last year- Kindergarten conferences ARE NOT student led, it will be a conference between guardians and myself. If your child comes to conference they may sit in the hallway. Grades 1-5 will be having student led conferences. (If you cannot meet on Tuesday, November 8th, please email me so that we may set up another time that we can discuss the progress of your student! )
