Dear Families,
I am sorry for the delay in newsletters. It has been remarkably busy and changing from online to in-person to online. I wish I could still teach in person; I know that the students do too. I had a wonderful time with your exceptional children during the week we were in school.
Some important dates:
- Tuesday- we will have a pickup for materials. These materials will be for 11/25-12/8. It is essential to pick them up on Tuesday outside the school between the hours 9-9.
- Wednesday- we are going to have a classroom Thanksgiving Breakfast. Instead of morning work, we will have an enormous Zoom Thanksgiving Day Breakfast Feast.
- 12/10 are Parent teacher conferences; soon, you can sign up for a time where we can Zoom each other. You sign up through Skyward.
Attached to this is the daily schedule laid out by each day. The times are estimates, but it is the schedule I will follow each day.
Reading: We are learning about storybook retelling.
Phonics– We are working on alphabet sounds and remaking the alphabet chart
Writing– I am a little worried about the writers in our class. Students need to work more independently on stretching out words they do not know how to spell. We are working on lists and moving to pattern books. This will help your child figure out words they don’t know how to spell, but it will help them to write down the sounds they hear.
Math– this week, we worked on teen numbers; next week, we will work on making ten and graphing
