Hello Kindergarten Families!
Phonics & “Robot Talk”:
We’ve been buzzing with excitement in our class this week as we dive deeper into the world of sounds. As we are working on our phonics, we are introducing the kids to “robot talk”! 🤖 What is “robot talk,” you ask? Well, it’s a fun way for us to break down words into their individual sounds. So, instead of just saying “cat,” we would sound it out like “c-a-t.” It’s a fantastic way for the kiddos to connect with the sounds in the words they hear.
We’re proud to announce that we have just completed our first phonics unit!🎉 Next week, we’ll be having a test on snap words. As always, practicing at home will be beneficial.
Writing:
Big news! Every child has now learned to write both uppercase and lowercase letters!🖍️ We urge all parents to continue practicing this with your child if you haven’t had the chance to yet.
Reading Workshop:
Reading is not just about knowing the words but also enjoying the stories. In our Reading Workshop, we’re emphasizing on building our reading stamina. We want to see how long every child can sit and read without getting distracted. It’s a work in progress, and every day we see improvements! This week, we read and acted out “Little Moon Pie,” and guess what? We replaced the cake with donuts!🍩 The kids had a blast!
Math Time:
Shapes, shapes, everywhere! This week, our little mathematicians explored different shapes, learning how to make and name them. A fun fact we learned: If a shape has a side, it also has a vertice.🔵🔺
Fun Run:
Speaking of fun, our Fun Run was the highlight of the week! The energy, the laughter, and the joy was contagious. For those who missed it, we’ve captured some beautiful memories. Scroll down to see the pictures! 📷
Quick Tip for the Upcoming Cold Months:
As the chill in the air grows, here’s a little tip for all parents – whenever you spot gloves or snowpants in stores, grab them early! They become a rare find after the first snowfall, and we wouldn’t want our little ones to catch a cold.
Thank you for your continuous support and involvement. Here’s to another week of fun-filled learning!
Note: I did not take most of the Color Run pictures, I know I did not get everyone, but I tried.
