Dear Parents,

As the school year comes to a close, it feels like we are saying goodbye to a family. It has been a joy and a privilege to be a part of your child’s growth and learning journey. I will always treasure each and every child and will be here if you ever need help or just want to say hello.

This week, we are focusing on long vowels in phonics, which is an important step in developing their reading skills. In reading, we are working on understanding the main idea of stories, helping the children to comprehend and connect with what they read. In math, we are playing a game called “Fishing for 10,” where students use cards with numbers to make pairs that add up to 10. This game helps reinforce their addition skills in a fun and engaging way.

As we prepare for first grade, we also finish up portfolios that will be passed along to their first-grade teacher. While I do not decide who their first-grade teacher will be, Ms. Bennett takes great care in placing students into groups that best support their continued growth and learning.

I will miss each and every one of you. Please feel free to stop by and say hi anytime. Our classroom door is always open.

Thank you for a wonderful year!

Warm regards,

River Eubanks
