Newsletter, January 4, 2019, and Pajama Day Pictures

Hello Families!

Soon I will take over full-time teaching! Mr. Eubanks remains in the classroom and very much engaged with students. However, I do all, instruction. This transition will not be different for students as I have been slowly taking over since November. Our daily schedule and routine will remain the same.

On Tuesdays, I will return to having Michigan State classes until February. On Tuesdays, Mr. Eubanks will teach.  I am excited to teach your student full time and to see them grow in the next few months!  If you have any questions, feel free to email Mr. Eubanks or me at:

Literacy

We have begun our fairy-tales unit! Students will learn story elements such as setting, problem, solution, and characters. Students will learn to compare story elements and will act out fairy tale stories! This week’s story was The Three Billy Goat’s Gruff Next week’s story will be The Three Little Pigs

Science

We will begin our Push and Pull unit this month. Students will learn about force, motion, push, pull

Math

We are beginning Section 5 in Kindergarten Everyday Mathematics. Main topics include teen numbers, introduction to symbols, shapes, and decomposing numbers.

Social Studies

Students will learn about Martin Luther King and how he changed the world. Students will consider how would they change the world. We will also discuss the concepts of past, present, and future.
